Where it comes from
Why these characters exist
Not a set in any sense. Each character is a separate letter that happens to resemble another one rotated — ɐ is a Latin turned a from the IPA, ǝ a turned e, ı a dotless i used in Turkish.
What the set is missing
Every character is hand-picked, and several are approximations rather than true rotations. The text must also be written in reverse order for the line to read correctly when flipped.

Because these are letters from other writing systems, spellcheck and search treat them as words in those languages. It is the least robust effect here and the most likely to be mangled by autocorrect. Screen readers announce these by their Unicode names or skip them, so a styled word can be read out character by character or lost entirely. Search and copy-paste also stop matching the plain spelling.
